TN Health Insurance-Pre-Existing Condition A "pre-existing" condition may determine whether or not a health insurance policy is issued or when that particular health problem will be covered by health insurance. |
|
What is a "pre-existing" condition ? This is a tough one and there is no concrete answer, outside of your individual policy. Each insurance carrier has its own policies and procedures for determining and defining "pre-existing" conditions. Generally, pre-existing conditions are health conditions for which you are now receiving treatment; should have received treatment; or had treatment at some specific point in the past. Some insurance companies will accept "pre-existing" conditions, as long as they are fully disclosed on the initial application and provided they are not specifically excluded by rider when the policy is Before you purchase an individual health insurance policy, you need to know how the company treats "pre-existing" conditions, if you have any medical problems.
